Bushmills

54 bottles

Bushmills claims the oldest licensed distilling site in the world, granted its charter in 1608 on the north Antrim coast near the Giant’s Causeway. It has stayed true to a distinctly Irish method ever since: triple-distilled malt whiskey, made from unpeated barley for a spirit that comes off softer and smoother than most of its Scottish neighbours. The house style is gentle and approachable, all honey, orchard fruit, vanilla and light spice, with the single malts leaning into sherry and bourbon cask character as they age. The Original blend is the everyday pour, the 10, 16 and 21 Year Old single malts the more contemplative end. Easy-going and consistent, it is Irish whiskey at its most classically drinkable.
