Good things come to those who care. We travel the world to bring you exceptional bottles — and we believe the way they reach your door should respect the planet they came from. Sustainability isn't a marketing line for us; it's a set of choices we make on every order.

Carbon-neutral shipping

Shipping bottles across borders has a footprint — we don't pretend otherwise. So wherever our carriers offer a carbon-neutral service, we choose it.

That means your order travels via programmes like DHL GoGreen and UPS carbon neutral, which offset a parcel's emissions by funding verified climate projects — reforestation, renewable energy and clean technology. And this isn't a claim you have to take on faith: where the service applies, you'll see the carbon-neutral mark printed right on your shipping label. Not every route or carrier offers it yet — but wherever the option exists, we take it.

Packaging that comes full circle

Glass, cardboard and paper are some of the most recyclable materials on earth — so we make the most of them.

• Recycled and recyclable materials. Wherever possible, our shipping boxes, void-fill and protective wrap are made from recycled content and are themselves fully recyclable.
• Right-sized boxes. We pack to the bottle, not to a standard box. Less empty space means less filler, fewer materials, and a smaller, lighter shipment.
• Plastic-free where we can. We're steadily replacing plastic protection with moulded pulp, paper and corrugated inserts that you can drop straight into your recycling.
• A second life. Our boxes and packing are built to be reused. Many of our customers keep them for storage, gifts or their own shipments — and we love that.

Shop your values

We believe a conscious choice should be an easy one. Where producers make the information available, we tag and filter our bottles by their credentials — so you can shop in line with what matters to you.

Look for filters like Organic, Vegan and Biodynamic, alongside other sustainability features, right on our shop pages. A few clicks lets you narrow thousands of bottles down to the ones that meet your standards — no guesswork, no fine print. As more producers share their certifications, we add them, so these filters only grow richer over time.

A greener storefront, too

Sustainability runs all the way down to the website you're reading this on. Bottles Without Borders is hosted by Kinsta, which runs on the Google Cloud Platform — a network powered by renewable energy and matched to 100% renewable electricity. So even the digital side of your visit is built on cleaner foundations.

Sourcing with intention

The most sustainable supply chain is a thoughtful one.

• We favour producers who share our values — distilleries, wineries and makers investing in cleaner energy, water stewardship and responsible land use.
• We consolidate shipments where we can, moving more in fewer journeys to cut transport emissions per bottle.
• We support small and independent producers, whose lower-volume, hands-on methods often tread more lightly than mass production.

Always improving
