Bushmills 10 Year Old Vino Dulce Reserve is a distillery bottling released in 2024, matured in bourbon and sherry casks then finished in Vino Dulce casks. That final wine-cask stage adds a sweeter, rounder layer over the classic Bushmills profile, bringing more dried fruit richness and soft dessert-wine warmth while keeping the spirit clean and fruit led.

Description
Bushmills 10 Year Old Vino Dulce Reserve is a 2024 distillery release built on the familiar Bushmills single malt style, but with a wine-led finishing cask designed to shift the profile away from the core 10 Year Old’s lighter bourbon and sherry balance. It’s bottled at 43% and presented as part of the Vino Dulce Reserve series.
Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it then takes on a secondary finish in Vino Dulce casks. The point of a sweet-wine cask finish isn’t to make the whiskey taste like wine, it’s to alter the balance of sweetness, fruit density, and perceived texture. Sweet fortified or dessert-style wine casks typically carry residual wood-held extractives that push flavours toward raisin, stewed fruit, caramelised sugar and softer spice, while also rounding off sharper oak edges.
In the glass, this sits closer to a richer, more dessert-fruit version of Bushmills 10 rather than a heavily sherried style. Expect the usual Bushmills honey and orchard-fruit lift underneath, with the Vino Dulce finish adding deeper dried fruit sweetness and a warmer, sweeter mid-palate. It’s a straightforward option if you like the Bushmills 10 structure but want a more wine-shaped flavour profile without going into full sherry-bomb territory.
