Jameson

Jameson is the whiskey that carried Ireland around the world, first laid down in Dublin in 1780 and now made at the vast Midleton distillery in County Cork. Like most Irish whiskey it is triple distilled, a step that strips out heaviness and leaves a spirit that is smooth, light and endlessly mixable, built on a blend of pot-still and grain whiskey matured largely in ex-bourbon and sherry casks.The house style is soft and approachable: green apple, vanilla, toasted wood and a gentle spice that made it a gateway to the category for millions. Beyond the standard bottling, expressions like Black Barrel, Caskmates and the Bow Street single-pot-still releases add depth. Easy in a glass, easier still in a highball.
