Released for Global Travel Retail in 2022, Bushmills Black Bush 80/20 PX Sherry Cask Reserve is a 1 litre edition built around a very specific blend recipe: 80% sherry aged single malt, partially finished in Pedro Ximénez casks, combined with 20% Irish grain whiskey. The PX influence pushes it towards rich fruitcake, caramelised raisin sweetness, toasted nuts and soft spice, while keeping the classic Black Bush profile intact.

Bushmills Black Bush 80/20 PX Sherry Cask Reserve is a Global Travel Retail release bottled in a 1 litre format, created as a deeper, more sherry forward take on the Black Bush style. The focus here is the blend structure and the PX cask influence, giving it more weight and sweetness than you’d expect from the regular Black Bush profile.

The recipe is stated clearly: 80% single malt matured in sherry casks, combined with 20% Irish grain whiskey, with part of the malt component finished in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks. PX wood is where the heavier sweetness comes from, driving darker dried fruit notes and a richer dessert style depth rather than dry spice or tannic grip. The grain element balances the blend, adding softness and lightness so the PX sweetness stays integrated rather than heavy.

On the nose, expect big sherry sweetness with rich fruitcake and toasted nuts. The palate stays soft and silky, bringing toasted nut character, allspice, and a punch of ripe peach. The finish is long and lingering, with PX richness carrying through after the fruit fades.
