Floral

Floral gin keeps juniper first and layers clear blossom and pollen notes. The style grew as distillers moved beyond classic citrus and spice to use petals and flowers with a light hand. To keep it clean not perfumed, many use vapour infusion or short macerations and blend fresh distillates back into a dry base. Floral gin gives you a bright nose, gentle sweetness from aroma rather than sugar, and a crisp dry finish.

Classic botanicals expected include rose petals, elderflower, lavender, chamomile, jasmine, violet, orange blossom, heather, hibiscus, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, lemon peel, sweet orange peel.
