Purity takes its meticulous thirty-four-fold distillation and pushes it to navy strength here, building a 57.1% gin on the same organic Swedish wheat and malted barley grown without chemical processing. The recipe is the house's Nordic signature turned up loud: organic juniper, wild berries, basil, thyme, lavender and a classic supporting cast of angelica root, coriander and cardamom. The extra proof concentrates everything without coarsening it.
The nose is oily and resinous, juniper and sweet fruit up front with a herbal lift and clear basil. The palate is bold, resinous juniper and basil leading, fruity berries and warm spice from angelica, coriander and cardamom filling out the middle. The finish is long and warming. At this strength it owns a gin and tonic without disappearing, so pour it over plenty of ice with a sprig of basil.
