Part of Redbreast's Iberian Series, this Tawny Port Cask Edition was released in 2023 by Irish Distillers. Redbreast is the benchmark single pot still range, distilled at Midleton in East Cork from malted and unmalted barley and known for its full, sherried style.
The maturation combines ex-bourbon American oak, ex-Oloroso sherry and tawny Port casks, the last bringing red fruit and a touch of sweetness to the usual dried fruit and walnut of sherry. Expect honey, vanilla and dark chocolate over the creamy, spiced pot still base, with a note of fresh oak from the wine casks. Bottled at 46% without an age statement.
