Description
Part of the All Sherry single cask releases of Redbreast, Ireland's benchmark single pot still, distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork in 2001 and selected by the Celtic Whiskey Shop for an event bottling of 600 bottles. It carries no age statement, drawn instead from a single first fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask 17126.
Triple distilled from malted and unmalted barley, the spirit keeps the peppery, oily texture of the pot still tradition. Long maturation in first fill Oloroso builds a sherried, leathery depth, with dark chocolate, dried fruit and a fragrant note of new wood. Undiluted at cask strength, 58.6%.
