Description
A single cask bottling from Redbreast's Dream Cask series, the Ruby Port Edition, released in 2020 for Europe. Triple distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork and bottled at 28 Years Old from cask 400295, a run of 912 half litre bottles of the benchmark single pot still whiskey.
The mash of malted and unmalted barley gives the aged spirit its oily, peppery pot still character. Long maturation, drawing on ex-bourbon oak with the red fruit signature of ruby port, builds chocolate, cooked and dried fruit, honey and a fragrant lift of hay. Bottled without dilution at cask strength, 51.5%.
