Batch 7 of Redbreast 27 Years Old, the cask strength high point of the core range, triple distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork and released for the German market. It is bottled at full strength from a marriage of ex-bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry butts and ruby port casks.
The single pot still mash of malted and unmalted barley gives the whiskey its oily, peppery frame. Nearly three decades in three cask types typically layer dark chocolate and dried fruit against fresh orchard fruit and red berries. Bottled undiluted at cask strength, 55.8%.
