Description
This Redbreast 1998 was distilled at Midleton and bottled for La Maison du Whisky in 2017 at 19 years old, single cask 70946, a run of 648 bottles. Redbreast is the benchmark single pot still range from Midleton in East Cork, distilled from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled for its creamy texture and spice.
Full Oloroso sherry maturation gives the whiskey a deep, dark chocolate and dried fruit character, the cask left to shape the spirit without a second wood. Bottled at cask strength, 55.7%, it is rich and undiluted, nineteen years of ageing meeting the pot still's oily, peppery core. As a single cask it captures one vessel of Midleton pot still at nineteen years.
