Description
This Redbreast 1997 single cask, number 14146, was distilled at Midleton and bottled by The Whisky Exchange in 2022 at 25 years old, a run of 570 for an event. Redbreast is Midleton's benchmark single pot still, distilled in East Cork from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled for the range's oily, peppery weight.
Cream sherry maturation gives the whiskey a rounded, gently sweet character of dried fruit and nuttiness, softer than the drier Oloroso casks used elsewhere in the range. Bottled at cask strength, 58.1%, it is rich and full, twenty five years of ageing meeting the pot still's spice. As a single cask it stands alone, unblended with any other wood.
