Description
Redbreast 18 Years Old is a newer step in the core range, a single pot still from Midleton in East Cork drawing on a wider cask mix than its siblings. This 2024 release was bottled at 46% for Europe. The pot still recipe of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled, underpins the range's creamy texture and baking spice.
Four cask types shape the whiskey, ex-bourbon barrels alongside Oloroso, cream sherry and Port, the fortified wines layering dried fruit, nuttiness and a touch of red fruit over the bourbon's vanilla. Dark chocolate and orchard fruit run through the eighteen year old spirit, fresh oak firming the finish. Unpeated and polished, it shows Midleton's pot still at greater age and complexity.
