Description
This is the cask strength edition of Redbreast 15 Years Old, batch No.1/25, bottled in 2025 for Ireland. Redbreast is the flagship single pot still range from Midleton in East Cork, and the cask strength releases present the whiskey undiluted, batch by batch. The pot still mash of malted and unmalted barley is triple distilled for the range's peppery, oily signature.
Ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks mature the spirit for fifteen years, the sherry contributing walnut and dried fruit over the bourbon's vanilla. At 56.3% it is powerful and full, older oak lending a resinous depth to the nutty, oily body. A little water releases the fruit while the pot still spice holds firm.
