Description
This Redbreast 12 Years Old is a special presentation of the benchmark single pot still whiskey from Midleton in Co. Cork, released in 2020 for the Irish market in a bottle designed to be repurposed as a bird feeder, a nod to the robin on the Redbreast label. Limited to 2000 bottles, it holds the standard twelve year old whiskey at the traditional 40%, made by Irish Distillers.
Matured in oak casks, chiefly ex-bourbon with the sherry seasoned wood typical of the range, it shows the familiar Redbreast profile of honey, orchard fruit and a sherried seam of dried fruit. The single pot still spirit brings clove, ginger and pepper over a creamy, oily texture, finishing long and gently spiced. Triple distilled and unpeated, it is the everyday classic in a collectable dress, as good in the glass as it is on the shelf.
