Redbreast 12 Year Old

Redbreast 12 Years Old is the classic single pot still whiskey from Midleton in Co. Cork, and this is an older release from around 1995, imported to the German market by Fitzgerald and Co. It carries the same twelve year age statement that made Redbreast famous, a bottling from an era when single pot still was a quieter category than the revival it enjoys today.

Matured in ex-bourbon casks, with the sherry seasoned oak that typically rounds out the twelve year recipe, it drinks at the traditional 40%. Honey, malt and soft orchard fruit sit over the pot still frame of clove, ginger and pepper, with the creamy, oily texture that is the range's signature. Triple distilled and unpeated, this vintage bottling shows the gentler, more restrained Redbreast of its day, a piece of the brand's history.
