Description
This small batch single pot still carries the Drumshanbo name from The Shed distillery in Co. Leitrim, PJ Rigney's Leitrim distillery opened in 2014. A NAS release bottled in 2020 for Europe, it is built on the house mash of malted and unmalted barley with a share of oats.
Kentucky bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks combine in the vatting, the bourbon oak giving vanilla and soft spice while the sherry layers in walnut and dried fruit. Triple distilled and bottled at 43%, it shows the peppery, oily pot still texture that marks Ireland's own whiskey style.
