Description
The Galanta First Edition was the debut single malt from The Shed distillery in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, the Leitrim operation opened by PJ Rigney in 2014. Triple distilled from malted barley and bottled in 2021 at 46%, it appeared as a limited run of 1,200 bottles for the French market.
Ex-bourbon American oak carries vanilla and a soft malt extract sweetness, while citrus and cooked fruit brighten the middle. Without a heavy cask influence the spirit stays light and fruity, showing the clean, orchard leaning character typical of the young distillery.
