Description
Drumshanbo 10 Years Old is a landmark for The Shed Distillery, the Co. Leitrim operation PJ Rigney opened in 2014, standing as its oldest single pot still release to date. Distilled three times in copper pots from a heritage style mash of malted and unmalted barley with a portion of Irish oats, it was bottled in 2026 in a run of 3,000 bottles for the Irish market.
Maturation ran through ex-bourbon barrels alongside acacia wood, a rarity in whiskey that brings a resinous, floral sweetness to the vanilla and coconut of American oak. Over that sits the pot still signature, peppery ginger spice, barley sugar and green orchard fruit, with the oats lending a silky, creamy weight. Bottled at 43%, it shows how far the Drumshanbo project has travelled in a decade.
