Description
Five hundred bottles of Dingle's second small batch at natural cask strength, released in 2017 for the Irish market at 60.1%. The Co. Kerry distillery had been running only five years, and this was among the earliest chances to taste its unreduced spirit.
Bourbon, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks make up the vatting, as in the standard Batch No. 2. Undiluted, the sherry influence turns dense and dark, fig and raisin with a faint whiff of struck match, over the green fruit of very young triple distilled malt. It is a raw, honest document of Dingle's opening chapter, matured by the Atlantic and best approached with water and patience.
