Description
A single cask from Dingle's Founding Fathers programme, the scheme that let early backers of the Co. Kerry distillery buy casks from its first years of production. Cask 227 was filled in 2014, within two years of the stills starting, and bottled in 2019 as a 5 Years Old for the Dutch market, yielding just 240 bottles under the Old Cannon name.
It is first generation Dingle single malt in its plainest form: triple distilled spirit, one ex-bourbon cask, bottled undiluted at 59.8%. With no cask vatting to round it, the house character shows clearly, orchard fruit, honeyed malt and vanilla in the typical Dingle style, carrying the salt edge of five Atlantic winters on the peninsula.
