Description
The autumn equinox, Cónocht an Fómhair, sets the theme for this Wheel of the Year single malt from Dingle in Co. Kerry, bottled in 2024 in an edition of 4,000 bottles for the European market as the series worked its way around the Celtic calendar.
Ex-bourbon casks hand the whiskey on to a rum cask finish, and the rum brings demerara sugar, banana and a warm tropical sweetness that reads almost sherried in its depth, layered over triple distilled Kerry malt with its honey and fresh fruit. Bottled at a cask strength of 50.5%, it is autumn in a glass by design, harvest sweetness up front and the distillery's sea freshened malt underneath.
