Description
Cónocht an Earraigh, the spring equinox, names this Wheel of the Year release from Dingle, the Co. Kerry distillery's series marking the turning points of the Celtic calendar. A triple distilled single malt, it was bottled in 2024 in an edition of 3,000 bottles for the European market.
The whiskey matures in ex-bourbon casks before a finish in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks, which lay cassis, plum skin and a cedary grip over the honey and orchard fruit of the house spirit. Bottled at a cask strength of 50.5%, it balances spring freshness with red wine depth, the bright, maritime Dingle character carrying the finish rather than being flattened by it.
