An Oloroso sherry release from Dingle's vintage cask series, this single malt was distilled in 2015 in the Co. Kerry distillery's small pot stills and bottled in 2024 at 8 Years Old, a run of 348 bottles for the German market.
Oloroso is the drier, nuttier side of the sherry family, and eight years in it give the whiskey walnut, dried fruit and dark chocolate over the honey and fresh orchard fruit typical of Dingle's triple distilled spirit, with the salt edged freshness its Atlantic warehouses tend to add. Bottled undiluted at 59.4%, it is a sturdier, more savoury expression than the distillery's PX bottlings, and all the more food friendly for it.
