The 2014 vintage puts this whiskey among the earliest spirit Dingle ever laid down, distilled only two years after the Co. Kerry stills first ran. Matured in Port wine casks and bottled in 2022 at 8 Years Old, it is part of the distillery's run of small vintage cask releases, 270 bottles reserved for the German market.
Port casks colour the triple distilled malt with red fruit and winter berry sweetness, and this particular parcel adds an unusual flinty, bready streak beneath, a reminder that vintage cask releases are chosen for character rather than uniformity. Bottled at a cask strength of 59.6%, it is early Dingle in the raw, a document from the distillery's first chapter, maritime maturation and all.
