Description
Zlatogor's AK-47 Gold takes the house's signature rifle-shaped bottle and finishes it in gold, presented in a gift box as a collector's piece. The spirit is a grain vodka built on high-purity alcohol and spring water, then put through multiple distillations and filtered over both activated charcoal and silver. Charcoal pulls fusel oils and heavier congeners from the spirit, while the silver stage adds a further polish, and together they give the texture its clean, smooth feel. At 40% it sits in the standard band and carries the light, slightly sweet character common to Eastern European grain vodkas.
The nose is fresh and fine with light cereal and a hint of minerality. The palate is soft, round and balanced with a subtle sweetness, and the finish is long and silky with a gentle warmth. That clean, faintly sweet body stands up well to bold flavours, so put it into a Bloody Mary: build it over ice with tomato juice, lemon, a few dashes of Worcestershire and hot sauce, and a twist of black pepper, where the vodka carries the savoury mix without thinning it out.
