Yoichi 12 Years Old is a single malt from Nikka's Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido, the northern island site Masataka Taketsuru established in 1934 along Scotland's peaty, maritime model. Twelve years is a meaningful interval at Yoichi, long enough for the coal-fired distillation's heavier oils and subtle smokiness to integrate fully with the cask, yet short enough to retain the spirit's youthful coastal energy.

Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the 12 year expression develops vanilla and baked fruit alongside the peat smoke, firm malt and briny undercurrent that Hokkaido's Sea of Japan coastline lends to the spirit through the long maturation. At 45% for global markets, it sits between the intensity of the cask strength domestic releases and the accessibility of the NAS expression, presenting Yoichi in a well-rounded, age-confirmed format.
