Description
Yamazaki Japan Edition is a no age statement single malt from Suntory's distillery in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, in the valley where three rivers meet and soft humidity aids maturation. Made for travel retail, it draws together the three woods central to the house style and presents the distillery's signature balance in a single glass.
The whisky is matured across white oak, Spanish oak and Japanese mizunara, a marriage that layers vanilla and coconut from the American wood, dried fruit and a touch of chocolate from the Spanish, and the unmistakable sandalwood and incense of mizunara over the distillery's ripe orchard fruit. Bottled at 43%, it is soft and rounded, an accessible yet complete portrait of the three oak Yamazaki signature.
