Description
The 2025 Writers' Tears Cask Strength is the most recent undiluted release in Walsh Whiskey's long running annual series, produced in Co. Carlow. As with every Writers' Tears it is a marriage of single pot still and single malt whiskey, no grain included, and it carries no age statement. This edition was limited to 1,200 bottles.
American oak maturation frames the whiskey with vanilla and soft toffee, typical of the wood. Bottled at 54.9% without dilution, it is rich and full, honeyed malt and orchard fruit meeting the peppery, slightly oily grip of the pot still component. A few drops of water settle the strength and open the fruit.
