Wikinger Nydam Honiglikör is a honey liqueur from the German producer Waldemar Behn, made under the Wikinger Met name and drawing on the old association between Vikings and honey based drinks. It is made from honey and carries a golden colour and a velvety mouthfeel, balancing sweet mildness against a fine, spicy depth, and is bottled at 30% ABV. Honey liqueurs of this kind lean on honey for both flavour and sweetening, giving a softer, rounder profile than sugar alone.

The nose is intense honey with nuances of vanilla and a subtle spiciness, the palate soft and sweet with blossom honey, fine herbs and a hint of caramel, and the finish mild and long with a fine sweetness and a gentle spicy nuance. Behind the bar it brings honeyed sweetness, body and a warm, mellow character, which makes it a smooth sweetener in stirred drinks, a honey note alongside whisky, and a warming addition to hot drinks and toddies. On its own or over ice it offers a gentle, warming pour. Serve it neat, over ice, or stirred into a hot serve where the honey and spice can open up.
