This is the standard single malt from West Cork Distillers, the independent Skibbereen operation in Co. Cork that has made its own malt and grain since 2003. Matured only in first fill bourbon casks, it is the unfinished, house style expression of the distillery's malt whiskey.
First fill American oak gives a clean vanilla and honey sweetness that suits the spirit's fresh orchard fruit and citrus, with a dry, hay like malt and a note of new wood underneath. Bottled at 40% without any cask finishing, it is a straightforward, unpeated Irish single malt built for everyday drinking. A European market release with no age statement.
