Description
This is a single cask release from West Cork Distillers' Cask Collection, drawn from one lightly charred first fill bourbon barrel numbered 160. Distilled and matured at the distillery in Skibbereen, Co. Cork, it was bottled at cask strength in 2019 for the Belgian market.
With no second cask and no dilution, the whiskey shows the bare bones of West Cork's malt and its bourbon wood: a nutty, oily richness, vanilla and toasted cereal, carried by a full 56% strength that rewards a drop of water. Bottled without an age statement, it is a straightforward, undiluted look at a single barrel of the distillery's own single malt.
