This 2019 Cask Collection bottling is the sherry finished entry in West Cork Distillers' finished single malt range, made at the distillery's own site in Skibbereen, Co. Cork. It shares the range's ex-bourbon base before a second maturation in Oloroso casks from Bodegas Baron.
The Oloroso finish lends dried fruit, a soft chocolate note and a deeper sweetness over the malt's natural citrus and vanilla, with fresh oak framing the close. Bottled at 43%, it is an easy, everyday sherried Irish malt, the distillery's clean, hay tinged spirit still legible under the cask influence. It was released for the European market.
