Description
This is the 2019 Cask Collection rum finish from West Cork Distillers, made at the company's own site in Skibbereen, Co. Cork. Like the rest of the range it starts from a first fill ex-bourbon maturation, here finished in casks that held CLN Panama rum.
The rum wood layers a gentle molasses and tropical sweetness over a malt that is otherwise bright with citrus and fresh orchard fruit, with a touch of fresh oak on the close. Bottled at 43%, it stays light and drinkable, the distillery's clean, cereal forward spirit carrying the finish. It was released without an age statement for the European market.
