Description
The Cask Collection is West Cork Distillers' accessibly priced range of finished single malts, each taking a different cask on top of a shared ex-bourbon base. This one, bottled in 2019 in Skibbereen, Co. Cork, uses port wood from Quinta da Boeira for its second maturation.
The whiskey first matures in ex-bourbon barrels, then finishes in port casks that lend dried fruit, a cocoa note and a green, slightly herbal edge over the malt's natural citrus. Kept at 43%, it stays light and easy, with the distillery's fresh, cereal driven spirit still showing through the fruit. A European market release.
