The Black Cask is the double charred blended Irish whiskey from West Cork Distillers, the independent Skibbereen distillery in Co. Cork, marrying pot still or malt with lighter grain. It carries no age statement and was bottled for the European market.
Its depth comes from double charred bourbon casks taken to a heavy char level, the scorched oak drawing out vanilla, honey and a note of chocolate over citrus and fresh fruit. Bottled at 40%, it is a rounded, sweetly toasted blend for everyday drinking.
