This 5 Years Old is a single pot still whiskey from West Cork Distillers, the independent distillery in Co. Cork, made from the mash of malted and unmalted barley that is Ireland's own style. It carries a five year age statement and was bottled in 2022 for Europe.
First fill ex-bourbon casks do the work, fresh American oak giving generous vanilla and honey over bright orchard fruit, while the pot still mash lends a gently peppery, oily texture beneath. Bottled at 43%, a shade above standard, it keeps a clear, fragrant malt character.
