Description
Kill Devil is Hunter Laing's rum line, releasing whisky house single casks at natural strength, non chill filtered and without additives. This 1997 comes from Uitvlugt, the closed coastal estate whose Savalle column rum is prized for its clean, fruity refinement. It spent 24 years in ex-bourbon before bottling at 50.2%.
Molasses based and distilled on a metal Savalle style column, Uitvlugt sits at the lighter, more elegant end of the Demerara spectrum. Expect refined tropical and orchard fruit, light spice and clean wood, carried by more than two decades of maturation. Unsweetened and bottled at full proof, it shows that closed estate character honestly, a finer and fruitier Demerara than the heavy pot still marks.
