This 16 Years Old is one of the older statements in the Tyrconnell range, released in 2019 for the Polish market with a double finish in Oloroso sherry and Moscatel wine casks. The brand is the unpeated single malt of Cooley in Co. Louth, John Teeling's 1987 independent, and it is double distilled in the Scottish manner rather than the Irish triple.

After its long primary maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, the pairing of Oloroso and Moscatel casks layers dried fig and raisin against fragrant fresh fruit, honey and a firm seam of new wood spice. Bottled at 46%, it balances the sweet wine influence against sixteen years of oak, a sherried, honeyed take on the fruity Tyrconnell house character.
