Description
The Blender's Cut is Two Stacks showing its working, the Newry, Co. Down bonder's blend bottled straight from cask without dilution. This edition drew Great Northern whiskey from virgin oak, ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then rested it in Sauternes wine casks before bottling at Killowen Distillery in 2020, 222 bottles for the Irish market.
The Sauternes finish folds honeyed apricot and candied citrus over the blend's toffee and toasted oak, with the Oloroso component adding fig and walnut depth. At 63.5% it is emphatically cask strength, built for slow sipping or a drop of water, and shows how much flavour young blended Irish whiskey can carry when the casks lead.
