Description
The cherry brandy edition of The Blender's Cut, the cask strength blend from Newry bonder Two Stacks, released in 2022 in 288 bottles for the Netherlands. As across the series, the whiskey is sourced from The Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, Co. Louth and matured in a trio of virgin oak, Ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks before the fruit brandy finish takes over.
Cherry brandy wood pushes dark red fruit, kirsch warmth and a bittersweet almond note through the blend's toffee and dried fig base. Bottled at 63%, it is bold, dark toned and confectionery rich, black forest flavours at whiskey strength, and it stands up equally well neat, watered, or over ice at the end of an evening.
