Description
The 18 Years Old is the senior single malt in the Tullamore D.E.W. range, an all malted barley whiskey triple distilled and aged for eighteen years. Bottled at 41.3% and limited to 2,500 bottles, it is a small release built around the same four cask idea as the 14.
Ex-bourbon barrels set the base before the malt is finished in Oloroso sherry, Port and Madeira casks, the extra years deepening the honey, cooked fruit and malty richness while keeping the vanilla and citrus fresh. The triple distillation holds the texture light despite the age and the wine cask weight. A polished, limited older malt from a brand better known for its everyday blends.
