A Tormore single malt, selected and bottled by Duncan Taylor, an 11 year old release from 2010, drawn from cask 82801212 and bottled at 54.5%. A release of 259 bottles. Set beneath the Cromdale Hills in Speyside, Tormore has distilled since 1960. It was granted listed building status in 1986, rare for a distillery so young.

The spirit was run through purifier stills for a light, clean spirit, to build a clean, citrussy, almond edged character. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, soft oak that lets the nut and fruit lead. At this age the spirit is fresh and nutty, the apple and citrus bright. The purifiers raise reflux, giving the clean, nutty spirit Tormore is known for. Its granite buildings, copper roofs and musical clock earned it listed status in 1986. A workers' village was built nearby in the same striking style. Heat recovery condensers and sub coolers run alongside the purifier stills.

Bottled at a cask strength 54.5%, it is rich. Apple, citrus and a soft almond meet soft vanilla and honey from the cask. Soft orchard fruit and nut sit behind the sweetness. The close is clean, nut over orchard fruit. This is a clean, citrussy Speyside single malt.
