The Own Barley range from Tipperary Boutique traces each whiskey back to a single field on the Ahern family farm in Co. Tipperary. This Railway Field bottling is a barley to bottle single malt from the distillery's own harvest rather than sourced stock, released in 2020 as a batch of 2000 bottles at natural strength.
Maturation in first fill ex Rioja casks lays red berry and plum over the cereal sweetness of estate grown barley, finishing with the tannic grip Spanish wine oak brings. Bottled at 50% without dilution, it carries no age statement but shows the fuller, wine led weight the distillery favours, a single malt shaped as much by the farm as by the cask.
