Description
Miguel Hogan joins Thomond Gate's Departed Spirits of Limerick series, releases named for figures from the city's past, and gives the Limerick bonder's ruby Port casks the lead. The single malt was distilled at the Great Northern in Dundalk, Co. Louth and bottled from single cask MH-004 in 2022, 360 bottles for the Irish market.
Ruby Port wood steeps the malt in red berries, plum and a jammy sweetness that sits well against the honey and biscuity cereal of the ex-bourbon years beneath. Bottled at a cask strength of 59.77%, it is the fruitiest of the Thomond Gate line, rich enough for after dinner but never cloying.
