Description
Thomond Gate revives Limerick's bonding tradition, finishing Great Northern whiskey in casks with a local accent and naming releases for figures from the city's past in its Departed Spirits of Limerick series. Bold and Brave returns here as single cask BB-002, a red ale malt finish bottled at cask strength, 270 bottles for the Irish market.
The ale cask leans on malt rather than hops, toasted cereal, caramel and a biscuity depth folded over the honey and orchard fruit of the Dundalk distilled single malt. At 55.56% undiluted it keeps a firm grip, and the beer cask work gives it a distinctly Limerick voice among Irish single malts.
