Description
Triple Oak is the Whistler take on a triple cask blend, moving through Bourbon, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez wood in succession. It comes from Boann Distillery in Drogheda, Co. Meath, where the Cooney family blend sourced Irish malt and grain in the bonder tradition, and it is bottled at 40% for the European market.
Each cask leaves its layer, vanilla and honey from the Bourbon barrels, walnut and dried fruit from the Oloroso, a raisin and dark sugar richness from the PX. The blend beneath stays light and approachable, soft grain sweetness and gentle malt, which keeps the sherry influence friendly rather than heavy. An uncomplicated, well judged introduction to the sherry led Whistler house style.
