Description
An event bottling from the Whistler PX I Love You series, this 9 Years Old single malt is sourced Irish stock matured and finished by the Cooney family at Boann in Drogheda, Co. Meath, the bonder work the label was founded on. A single Pedro Ximenez sherry hogshead, cask 1121, yielded 480 bottles in 2022 at 46%.
PX is the sweetest of sherries and its hogshead soaks the malt in fig, date and raisin, with dark chocolate and a lick of espresso developing behind. The malt's own honey and orchard fruit keep it from cloying, and at 46% the texture stays plush, finishing on sticky dried fruit, walnut and a warming spice.
