Description
Fisher in the Rye wears its pun proudly, a Whistler blend from Boann Distillery in Drogheda, Co. Meath finished in Doppelbock rye casks, wood that carries both dark lager maltiness and rye spice. Like the rest of the Whistler blends it marries sourced Irish malt and grain in the bonder tradition, and it is bottled at 43% for the European market.
The finish is what sets it apart, rye bread crust, caramel and a toasty, brewery warmth folding into the soft vanilla and banana sweetness of the grain whiskey beneath. Malt brings honey and cereal through the middle, and the close is gently spicy, baking spice and dark malt with a clean, sweet fade. An easy, characterful pour built for curiosity.
